At first glance, it appears to be a regular notebook, but upon opening, you’ll discover pages made from Akamatsu wood. Known as "Kyogi" (経木) in Japan, this thinly sliced wood was once used by Buddhist monks around 1500 years ago to write sutras. Today, this tradition is revived by talented woodworkers in the rich forests of Nagano Prefecture, using thinnings to support forest sustainability.
