Collected Field Recordings Volume Two: Mount Vision Raga-forms is five long form, nylon-string, deep-dives into the melody-scapes brought forth by the mountain on which they were recorded. To Indian Classical musicians it may be presumptuous to call these ragas, but that is essentially the mode these pieces take: a slow exploration of the melodic character of the piece (alap) followed by increasingly rhythmic sections of the melodic river. But it's not all Indian inspired music here: influence from Japanese koto, Celtic harp, American minimalism and various fingerpicking traditions all find their way into these densely woven bioregional guitar tapestries. Not to mention the birdsong occasionally captured in the background.
